Common questions

What is Digitalis?

Digitalis is an Australian software, AI and digital product company. We turn complex ideas and emerging technology into useful, dependable products through product strategy, software development and applied AI.

Who founded Digitalis?

Dr Todd Miller founded Digitalis. He is a medical doctor and certified health informatician (MBBS, MPH, MBA, CHIA) with executive experience in clinical governance, AI clinical decision support and national digital health services.

How does Digitalis relate to Digitalis Health?

Digitalis Health Pty Ltd (ABN 84 689 650 888) is the company, and Digitalis is its software, AI and product brand. Digitalis Health, at digitalishealth.com.au, is the founder's clinical and digital health practice and professional profile.

Is Digitalis connected to other organisations named Digitalis?

Digitalis at digitalis.com.au is an independent Australian software and AI company. It is unrelated to other businesses, funds or agencies that share the name, and to the foxglove-derived medicine digitalis, which inspired the name.

Which industries does Digitalis work in?

Digitalis began in healthcare and now works across software, AI and digital products in any industry. The disciplines developed in healthcare — safety, explicit architecture, evidence and operational realism — inform the wider approach.

Can Digitalis build a product from an early idea?

Yes. Work can start before a detailed specification exists. We can help define the problem, map the workflow, scope the MVP, choose the architecture and then build the product.

Can Digitalis work with an existing development team?

Yes. Digitalis can work alongside internal engineering, design, product, operational or executive teams, including architecture, product definition, evaluation and targeted implementation.

Does Digitalis build AI agents?

Yes, where the workflow calls for agentic behaviour. We choose agents when a system needs to plan, pick tools and act across changing state, and deterministic automation when the correct behaviour can be specified explicitly.

Where is Digitalis based?

Digitalis is an Australian company and works with organisations across Australia. Delivery can be remote or embedded depending on the work.

How do I start?

Send a short description of the problem, who experiences it, what exists today and what outcome would make the work worthwhile. A short email is enough to begin.
